Now support your patient to look through the key parts of the barrier booklet.

Your Chairside Manual will be helpful here.

Remember:

  • You don’t need to cover every page – only what the patient wants to explore
  • Offer a brief overview of the main points
  • You can add your own advice, as long as it aligns with motivational interviewing principles which you’ll be familiar with from the training
